    Awesome

i like portability and i use them with my HI-RES Pioneer (Amp and double DAC ) portable Audio player and they sound amazing with my MQA and Flack audio files, will never go back to MP3 ( even if my Audio player does a good job with the conversion) and when you attach a FIIO Q1 MarkII (DAC/Amplifier the Sennheiser sound ever better.

    PRO:

Everything about them from the sound to the quality and the fact that are very light, can wear them for long period of time.and the better the Amp the better they sound.

    CON:

    nothing there to complain about

    BEST USES:

    At home

    BOTTOM LINE:

I would recommend this to a friend.

    Enjoy music in its magnitude

Although the 600 and 650 start from the well-known sennheiser sound signature, each one has its essence and particularities, already decided on which one I would buy, sennheiser shows that there are still many people working on the 6x0 line and launches the 660. After following the Reviews and comments, I made the decision according to my personal taste. I was looking for a sound that most closely resembles how it feels to sit in the middle line between the stage and the final part of the concert, in the case in the middle of the audience. When calculating the acoustics of a room, there will be places where the reverberation will be perfect, and the resonance would fit your ears as if the band or orchestra were playing just for you. The central is the main voice of the band, which comes right in front of you, the more you feel about the music, the more you perceive the instruments. The man at the table has to know how to equalize the sound for the show, if not the best voice and instruments, they will be very bad. Being well equalized, the right thing is to make your voice stronger and sweeter than the most strident instruments, with which the instruments are completing harmonically with the main voice. Engineers who know what they are doing, can make the headphones reproduce as realistically as possible a concert, thinking of the acoustics, the well-positioned band and equalized sound. A great engineer already manages to make the concert hall seem to have the best acoustics, the band is well positioned and mainly, the instruments do not stand out to the main one, that is the voice of the singer. I feel it on the HD650. Congratulations Sennheiser! As an Architect, I like to greet a team when doing a great project. Ps. The photos and videos of the HD650 can not do justice to opening the luxurious sennheiser box and seeing the King in that unique painting that harmonizes with the tone of the black velvet cups along with the timeless design of the HD6x0 line sennheiser was able to make the most beautiful headphones of the last decades. These headphones are complete. The sennheiser now offers the 600, 650 and 660, discover your taste and enjoy your music.

    PRO:

Timeless Design; Internal and external quality and unmatched sennheiser sound signature

    CON:

    none

    BEST USES:

indoor environments due to open design; preferably listening with lossless audio and with an amplifier will ensure a better experience.

    BOTTOM LINE:

I would recommend this to a friend.

Absolute comfort, great sound and Ultime reliability

I bought my 650 back in 2010 as my first Hi-Fi Headphones and I haven't looked back since. I just ordered a new set of ear-pads to give it a new youth. Other than that, it has been perfect do far. Of course the delivers extremely good sound, I find it pretty balanced, which is a good thing since I listen to all types of music. I will point out that it particularly shines with more natural styles ( think Adele, Jazz, classic rock) although it has been doing a great job with electronic music and high pitched classical thanks to a great clarity throughout the spectrum. There is no doubt that your ears will give up before this headphone. Concerning the use, saying it's an open design says it all, dont expect ultimate noise reduction. Yet, although I dont commute with it, I used it in the plane numerous times without any issue. So, as long as you are willing to carry a bigger-than-usual headphone, a nomad usage is possible. I will end by addressing the driving issues: 600ohms is a lot, yes, yet I never had any big driving issue. I mainly use it plugged on my macbook pro and never felt the computer jack was holding the 650 back. For nomad use, I tend to stick to an ipod classic paired with a small portable amp. This small setup really delivers! Using it on a smartphone is possible, but I prefer the previous solution as phone usually dont have high power jack outputs. All in all it is by far the best headphone i have ever owned. I has been mine for 7 years and I look forward to spending many pore years using it.

    PRO:

All parts replaceable Super comfortable Very very good sound

    CON:

    Nothing for my use.

    BEST USES:

At home. Anywhere you want good sound

    BOTTOM LINE:

I would recommend this to a friend.

FAQ

  • What amplifiers are recommended for Sennheiser headphones?

Other than recommending the Sennheiser HDVD 800 and HDVA 600 amplifiers for our high end audiophile headphones we do not provide amplifier recommendations because there are simply too many factors (including cost, features, etc) that need to be accounted for when choosing an amplifier.

For amplifier recommendations Sennheiser suggests that our customers check out this headphone forum (www.head-fi.org) where the moderators and member test a variety of different amplifiers of varying costs and features and can provide feedback on how the different amplifiers perform under different circumstances.

  • What is the difference between "open" and "closed" ear cups on headphones?

With Sennheiser headphones the audio will always be accurate and responsive and is sure to please no matter what situation you need it for.

An open (sometimes referred to as "open aire" headphone is one that uses some external airspace to reproduce life-like audio within the ear-cup. Think of it as having premium speakers next to your ears that you can control the volume for with extreme precision. The trade-off is that at extreme volumes some sound will leak out. Some of our "open aire" models include the HD 800, HD 700, HD 650, HD 600, HD 598, HD 558 and HD 518.

A closed headphone isolates you from your environment and vice-versa (ie: the sound is contained within the headphones). This is perfect for critical listening or a situation where you do not want to disturb/be disturbed. Some of our "closed" models include the MOMENTUM, Urbanite XL, HD 380 PRO, HD 280 PRO, HD 449 and HD 439.
